Although Belfast is mostly associated with a bloody civil war between Catholics and Protestants, With the ongoing peace negotiations between the two camps Belfast is more a city of hope than of despair.
It’s also a beautiful city with a rich history. It dates back to the Middle Ages and though it was bombed severely in the Great War, there’s still a great heritage. Belfast’s prime is in the 19th century and there are still a lot of impressive buildings from that era, but on the whole it’s really a modern city, a true metropolis.
